Arlington, TX — Police are investigating the unexplained death of a 42-year-old man who was found unresponsive after his vehicle left the roadway Sunday afternoon near Six Flags.
According to the Arlington Police Department, officers responded around 2 p.m. Aug. 9 to the 2000 block of East Road to Six Flags Street after receiving reports that a 2025 Toyota Corolla had left the roadway and stopped in a ditch.
First responders found the driver, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as 42-year-old Leighton Francis Howard.
Investigators found no evidence that the vehicle had been involved in a crash, and authorities have not determined why it left the roadway. Police said the possibility that Howard experienced a medical episode has not been ruled out.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
The incident remains under investigation.
