Odessa, TX — A 23-year-old woman is now wanted on a manslaughter charge following the death of an infant at a housing community on Tropicana Street, according to an update from the Odessa Police Department.
Police identified the woman as Sienna Herrera.
According to the initial investigation, investigators believe Herrera left her infant child in a bathtub with two other children. Police said the children were left unsupervised in the bathtub for an extended period.
Herrera was initially charged with Endangering a Child, a second-degree felony.
The infant was sent for an autopsy. Based on the facts and circumstances developed during the investigation, Odessa Police detectives later obtained an additional warrant for Herrera on a charge of Manslaughter, also a second-degree felony.
Police said Herrera is currently wanted on the manslaughter charge.
The case began as a death investigation after an infant was found deceased at a housing community on Tropicana Street. The investigation remains ongoing.
