Harris County, TX — A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to leave a Burlington store with nearly $1,000 worth of unpaid merchandise, according to Constable Mark Herman’s Office.

Deputies responded Aug. 3 to a theft in progress at the Burlington store in the 28900 block of Northwest Freeway.

Upon arrival, deputies located Fernando Chavez-Hernandez. Authorities allege Chavez-Hernandez selected $995.59 worth of merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying.

Chavez-Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a theft charge.

Bond: $100
Court: County Court 11
