Lubbock, TX — A 39-year-old man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after a pedestrian who was seriously injured in an overnight crash later died, according to Lubbock police.

Police responded just before midnight to a crash involving a pedestrian near 66th Street and University Avenue.

The pedestrian was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries and later died.

Police identified the driver as Brian Rodriguez. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

Additional information about the circumstances surrounding the crash and the identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
