Orange County, TX — A Newton County Sheriff’s deputy and another person were transported to a hospital Sunday evening following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 12 in Orange County.
At approximately 5:45 p.m. Aug. 9, the deputy was traveling westbound on SH 12 near FM 1136 when the patrol vehicle hydroplaned and struck another vehicle traveling on the highway.
The deputy was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for evaluation. One occupant of the second vehicle was also transported to the hospital.
No additional information regarding their conditions was provided.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is the lead agency investigating the crash.
