Houston, TX — A man in a wheelchair was killed Friday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in southeast Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash happened shortly after 10 p.m. at Westover Street and Telephone Road.
Police said the man was crossing the street in a crosswalk while using a wheelchair when he was struck by a small white sedan.
The driver left the scene after the collision, according to police.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
Investigators were working to locate surveillance video from the area and speak with potential witnesses. The driver has not been identified.
