Kingsland, TX — A domestic violence incident in Kingsland left one woman injured and a male suspect dead after deputies with the Llano County Sheriff's Office responded to a disturbance Thursday evening.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 6 to the 1800 block of Greenwood Lane. Upon arriving, deputies heard a woman in distress inside the residence. Moments later, they heard a single gunshot and immediately entered the home.
Inside, deputies found an adult woman who was emotionally distressed and an adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Investigators said the preliminary investigation indicates the woman had been assaulted before the man sustained what is believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The woman was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The male suspect, identified as Mackey Bolinger, was flown to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, where he later died from his injuries.
The Sheriff's Office also confirmed that an Emergency Protective Order had been issued on July 18, 2026, naming the female victim as the protected person. Her identity is being withheld to protect her privacy.
Investigators said the incident appears to be isolated and that there is no danger to the public.
