Harris County, TX — A motorcyclist was hospitalized in serious condition after a hit-and-run crash involving an unknown vehicle on the Katy Freeway Service Road.

According to Harris County Constable Precinct 5, deputies with the Parks and Patrol Division assisted the Harris County Sheriff’s Office at the scene in the 19400 block of the Katy Freeway Service Road.

Witnesses told authorities that a gray vehicle collided with the motorcycle and then fled the scene. The motorcycle subsequently crashed along the curb of the service road.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffered major head trauma, according to Precinct 5. The rider was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

No additional description of the fleeing vehicle or driver was released.
