Harris County, TX — A convicted felon was arrested after deputies conducting a traffic stop in north Harris County allegedly discovered a firearm inside the vehicle.
According to Harris County Constable Precinct 4, deputies stopped a vehicle on Aug. 5, 2026, in the 23700 block of Prairie Bird Drive after observing expired registration.
During the stop, deputies reported detecting the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, which led to a search. Authorities said the passenger, identified as James Miskell, was determined to be a convicted felon and was allegedly in possession of a firearm.
Miskell was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Authorities said he is awaiting bond through the 232nd District Court.
All criminal charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
