Guadalupe County, TX — Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in locating a fugitive wanted in connection with a Harris County murder case and a Brazoria County aggravated kidnapping case.
Authorities said Carlos Alberto Gonzalez-Barahona is wanted on a Harris County murder warrant issued June 20, 2017, and a Brazoria County aggravated kidnapping warrant issued July 6, 2017.
According to Crime Stoppers, Gonzalez-Barahona was convicted of Burglary of a Habitation in Harris County in 2010 and was deported to El Salvador in October 2013.
Investigators allege that on June 18, 2017, Gonzalez-Barahona fatally shot his estranged girlfriend at an apartment in northwest Houston before fleeing the area. Authorities said he later abandoned a pickup truck in Wharton County and allegedly kidnapped the truck's driver at gunpoint in Brazoria County before disappearing.
Crime Stoppers said Gonzalez-Barahona is affiliated with the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang, has ties to Houston, and has been deported from the United States multiple times.
A reward of up to $6,000 is being offered through Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers for information leading to his arrest. Crime Stoppers of Houston is also offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.
