Hitchcock, TX — A Galveston County jury has found Jkwon Howard guilty of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Prino Road in 2025.
According to the Hitchcock Police Department, following the guilty verdicts, the jury sentenced Howard to:
* 45 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the Murder of Patrick Williams
* 20 years for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
The convictions stem from a May 15, 2025, shooting in the 6600 block of Prino Road, where officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid, but Patrick Williams was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim survived after being transported to UTMB Galveston for treatment.
Police said Howard was located nearby after witnesses provided a description of the suspect. He was detained without incident and later confessed to the shooting during an interview with detectives.
The Hitchcock Police Department expressed its condolences to the family and loved ones of Patrick Williams, as well as the surviving victim and everyone affected by the shooting. The department also recognized the work of its patrol officers, detectives, the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, and assisting law enforcement agencies throughout the investigation and prosecution.
