Kingsland, TX — The Llano County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic violence incident that left a woman injured and a man suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday evening.

Deputies responded at approximately 8:45 p.m. to the 1800 block of Greenwood Drive after receiving a report of a disturbance.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies heard a woman in distress inside the residence after arriving. Moments later, they heard a single gunshot and immediately entered the home.

Inside, deputies found an adult woman and an adult man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Based on the initial investigation, authorities believe the woman had been assaulted before the man sustained what investigators believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The woman was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. The man was transported by air ambulance to an area hospital. Their conditions were not released.

The identities of both individuals are being withheld pending notification of family members.

Investigators believe the incident was isolated and said there is no danger to the public.

The investigation remains active as authorities process the scene, conduct interviews, and gather evidence.
