Forney, TX — A former Forney ISD elementary school principal has been arrested after investigators accused her of failing to report allegations involving a special education teacher who is already facing multiple child-related charges.
According to investigators, former Crosby Elementary School Principal Wendy Bailey has been charged with:
* Endangering a Child
* Failure to Report
Authorities allege Bailey knew about teacher Jonathan Michael’s prior allegations and employment history before recommending him for employment after he legally changed his name.
Investigators also allege Bailey failed to report concerns raised by school staff involving inappropriate conduct and the alleged physical abuse of special needs students.
According to arrest documents, two teacher’s aides reported concerns in April, including allegations that Michael inappropriately touched a student in the classroom, touched students inappropriately in a bathroom, and made sexual comments. Investigators also allege classroom surveillance video showed Michael violently throwing children to the ground and shoving another child into a bookshelf.
Michael was previously arrested and is facing charges including Injury to a Child and Child Grooming in a separate case.
Forney ISD has stated it is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The investigations remain ongoing. All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
