Lubbock, TX — A motorcyclist was arrested after allegedly reaching 143 mph on Loop 88, according to the Lubbock Police Department.
Police said the rider’s high-speed trip ended not with a finish line, but with a trip to jail.
The department used humor to drive home a serious message, saying this wasn’t a case of “keeping up with traffic” or “running a little late,” but a dangerous decision that put the rider and everyone else on the roadway at risk.
Authorities reminded motorists that extreme speeding doesn’t just increase the chances of getting arrested—it can have deadly consequences.
Drive smart, slow down, and help keep Texas roads safe.
