A driver was arrested after allegedly evading a Harris County Precinct 5 traffic stop for about 3 miles in northwest Houston.

A driver was arrested after allegedly failing to stop for a Harris County Precinct 5 corporal who was attempting to make a traffic stop in northwest Houston, according to the constable’s office.

The vehicle was traveling 80 mph in a 55-mph zone in the 3000 block of Highway 6 North when the corporal activated the emergency lights on his marked patrol car. The driver continued without stopping despite multiple opportunities to do so, the office said.

The vehicle turned onto Pine Forest Lane and continued for approximately 3 miles before stopping in the 17800 block of Clay Road at Greenhouse. The driver was detained, and charges were accepted for eluding arrest in a motor vehicle.
