Austin police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with an aggravated robbery and shooting on Rainey Street that left an adult male seriously injured, though the injuries were not life-threatening.
Bryan Andrew Bouray was arrested Aug. 1 during an operation by the Austin Police Department’s Robbery and Violent Crimes Task Force units. He was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, police said.
Detectives recovered multiple pieces of evidence during the arrest and search warrant operation, including a firearm, according to APD.
The robbery and shooting occurred at about 1:23 a.m. July 26 in the 80 block of Rainey Street. Police initially sought information about two suspects.
After further investigation, detectives determined that the person previously identified as Suspect 1 was not involved in the robbery or shooting and was a witness in the case. Police said they are no longer seeking information about that person’s identity or involvement.
