McAllen firefighters rescued an unconscious cat trapped inside the garage of a burning home this afternoon.
Crews responded to a house fire in the 2400 block of North 28th Lane. While battling the blaze and searching the home, firefighters found the cat and carried it to safety.
With assistance from Lone Star EMS, firefighters administered oxygen and cooling measures. After several minutes, the cat began to respond and is recovering.
No people were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
